The fourth National Lok Adalat will be held in all courts of the state on December 13, stated an official spokesperson of the Himachal Pradesh Legal Services Authority.

The spokesperson, in a statement issued here yesterday, said that the National Lok Adalat is being held under the patronage of Justice Gurmeet Singh Sandhawalia, Chief Justice, High Court of Himachal Pradesh and state’s Patron-in-Chief, state Legal Services Authority and under the guidance of Justice Vivek Singh Thakur, Judge, High Court and the Executive Chairman, HP State Legal Services Authority.

Online facility for payment of compounding fee through ePay (eCourts Digital Payment) has been provided in case of motor vehicles challans/cases particularly in the courts of Traffic Magistrates.

“The public and litigants are being made aware about the National Lok Adalat through IEC material and spreading awareness by associating local bodies, stakeholders, NGOs, representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions, Para Legal Volunteers and Public Transport Services, etc,” he said.

“Till now, 84,000 cases have been identified by different courts in the state for settlement before the upcoming National Lok Adalat scheduled to be held on December 13. Regular meetings are being held with all bar associations, representatives/officers of insurance companies, banks and financial institutions for effective identification of cases for the National Lok Adalat,” said the spokesperson.
