Under the guidance of Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan, Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Himachal Pradesh and Executive Chairman of the HP State Legal Services Authority, a National Lok Adalat will be organised in all courts of the state on December 14.

An official spokesperson said that an online facility for the payment of a compounding fee through ePay (eCourts Digital Payment) had been provided in the case of motor vehicle challans, particularly in the courts of Traffic Magistrates.

He said that the litigant public was being made aware of the National Lok Adalat through the IEC material and spreading awareness by associating local bodies, stakeholders, NGOs, representatives of panchayati raj institutions, para legal volunteers, public transport services, etc.

Till now, about 62,000 cases had been identified by different courts for settlement in the upcoming National Lok Adalat. Regular meetings were taking place with local Bar Associations, insurance companies, banks and financial institutions for the effective identification of cases.
