The Public Relations Society of India (PRSI), Shimla Chapter, in collaboration with the University Institute of Technology (UIT), will celebrate National Public Relations Day on April 21 with students of journalism, mass communication and public relations.

This year’s celebration will centre around the nationwide theme: “Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence: Role of Public Relations.” Experts and professionals from the fields of media, public relations, and technology will engage in discussions highlighting the urgent need for ethical and responsible use of AI, especially in communication and public engagement.

Among the speakers are renowned media expert Dr BS Panwar, known for his work in community radio; Dr Akshya Bhardwaj, Head of the Department of Information Technology; and PR stalwart Dr Akhilesh Pathak, who will share their insights on the evolving role of PR in the age of artificial intelligence.

Prof AJ Singh, Director of UIT, will also address the gathering, drawing from his decades of experience in computer science. He will emphasise the growing importance of swift and effective communication, especially in technical and engineering fields, and how AI can aid in resolving complex management issues.
