Naveen Kumar named VC of agri university

Naveen Kumar has officially assumed the charge of Vice-Chancellor of Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Agriculture University (HPAU), Palampur.
He took over the post following the retirement of Dr DK Vatsa, who served as acting Vice-Chancellor for almost a year. Kumar, who hails from Hamirpur district, completed his BSc in Agriculture in 1986, and his MSc in Agronomy from HPAU in 1988. He began his career at the university as an Assistant Scientist (Agronomy) on December 2, 1989, and completed his PhD from Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, in 1998.
Kumar has over 34 years of experience — 9 years as an assistant scientist, 8 years as an associate scientist, and 17 years as a professor.
He has been involved in the execution of more than 24 research projects funded by various state, national and international agencies. — OC
