The NCC unit of Government Degree College, Dhami, celebrated NCC Foundation Day on Monday with great enthusiasm through an event titled Udaan. The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Principal Dr Dinesh Singh Kanwar, who was the chief guest for the occasion. This was followed by a dance dedicated to Lord Ganesha, presented by NCC cadets.

The celebration featured a range of patriotic performances that captivated the audience. A short play by the cadets highlighted themes of patriotism and duty. Sujal and Mahesh presented patriotic songs, while Kritika and Deepali performed a Punjabi dance that drew warm appreciation. Cadets Himanshu and Harshit also delivered an informative presentation outlining the aims, objectives and role of NCC in personal and social development.

In his address, Dr Kanwar urged students to cultivate self-discipline, unity and the spirit of “nation first”. He said the youth must remain aware of their duties and move ahead with courage, truth and dedication to national service. The programme concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
