A Nepal native was murdered after being brutally assaulted with sticks by several individuals at Barang village in Kinnaur. The deceased has been identified as Bheem Bahadur. The accused—Prakash Chand, Rajender, Monika, Bhavinder and Satra Devi—are all natives of Nepal and were working as labourers in Kinnaur.

According to the complaint filed by Binita, the victim’s wife, her brother-in-law Prakash and his wife Satra had been constantly misbehaving with them. On May 24, Prakash allegedly misbehaved with her husband, leading to a heated argument between the two. She alleged that the next day, her sister had an argument with her husband during which she threatened to kill him.

On May 26, Binita said her sister, brother-in-law and their children—armed with stones and sticks—came to their residence and brutally assaulted Bahadur, causing severe head injuries that led to his death on the spot. The accused then fled the scene.

The police acted promptly, initiating a probe and arrested all the accused.
