Nerchowk-Pandoh road to remain closed for 2 hours twice near 4 Mile
According to the order, the highway will remain closed between 12.30 am and 2.30 am for debris removal and from 5 am to 7 am for hill-cutting work. The decision has been taken keeping in mind the urgency of the construction work, safety protocols required and the safety of commuters using the highway.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the road closure was necessary to ensure that the ongoing work could progress unhindered. The construction work involved the use of heavy machinery, blasting and large-scale excavation, which pose potential hazards to vehicular movement during active hours, he added.
He said, “Citizens have been urged to cooperate with the administration and plan their travel accordingly. Commuters have been advised to use alternative routes when the road is closed to avoid inconvenience.”
Devgan said that efforts were being made to minimise traffic disruption and complete the work within the stipulated time. Public cooperation, he emphasised, was crucial to ensure both progress and safety during the construction of this vital infrastructure work.
