The body of a newborn infant was found near the railway tracks in Upper Arniala village on the outskirts of Una city early Thursday morning. The discovery was first made by migrant workers living nearby, who spotted the infant wrapped in clothing and immediately alerted local public representatives.

A police team reached the spot, cordoned off the area and sent the body to the Una district hospital for examination. As the locality is primarily inhabited by migrant families from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, police are inquiring about any recent births and have sought birth and death records from Health Department officials.
