This was his first formal meeting with the Chief Minister after assuming the office of the university's Vice-Chancellor.
The Chief Minister congratulated him on assuming the office and hoped that the university, under his guidance and administration, would scale new heights and enhance its reputation. The VC, who is a professor in the Department of Physics, said that his top priorities would be establishing accountability and enhancing the standards of research in the university; besides, establishing new centres to produce skilled students in all the fields so that they could get good jobs.
Notably, a regular VC has been appointed by the state government after a gap of three years.
