The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) today acquired two petrol stations on the Solan-Kaithlighat section of the National Highway (NH) No. 5 to pave the way for its widening to four lanes.

Senior officer, National Highways Authorities of India, Dinesh Punia said that Victory Filling Station at Ber Khas and Mehta Filling Station at Kandaghat were acquired and the due compensation had already been paid to their owners.

AIREF Engineers was awarded the 22.91-km highway expansion project to be completed at a cost of Rs 478.74 crore. The work, which began in December 2018, was already running behind schedule.
