NHM doctor injured after unknown man assaults him

A doctor working with the National Health Mission (NHM), Shimla, has sustained injuries after he was allegedly assaulted by an unknown person.

The injured doctor has been identified as Vikas Sharma.

According to reports, he was stopped and attacked by an unknown person near Brockhurst locality in Shimla while he was on his way to the office. The accused immediately fled from the spot. It has also been alleged that the accused had threatened the doctor. Sharma, was immediately rushed to Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla, where he is undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, police officials have launched a probe into the matter.
