There was no let-up in Covid cases as 31 persons were found infected today, taking the tally in the state up to 1,213.

The highest number of 10 cases were reported from Solan, while six cases came from Kangra, four each from Sirmaur and Shimla, three each from Kangra and Una, two from Chamba and one each from Bilaspur and Mandi.

4 cases in Sirmaur district

Nahan: Four persons tested positive in Sirmaur district. There are six active cases in the district now while 29 have cured.

SP, Sirmaur, Ajay Krishan Sharma said three persons tested positive from Paonta Sahib. Those infected included a 53-year-old industrial worker from Dhaula Kuan, who was in institutional quarantine. He had come from Haryana.

Two youths from ward number 5 in Paonta Sahib, who had come from Jammu and Kashmir and were in home quarantine, also tested positive.

DC RK Pruthi said the fourth case was a repeat sampling case where a Delhi returnee, who had tested positive first and then negative, had again tested positive.

He was in home quarantine at Haripur Dhar.

Two kids among affected

Kangra district reported six cases. A 59-year-old man and his 26-year-old daughter, residents of Chatri village in Shahpur of Kangra district, were found infected. A 13-year-old girl, a primary contact of her father and a six-year-old child from Ghar village in Harsar in Palampur were also found infected.
