The Governor said the state government was making efforts to free the state roads of stray cattle by June 2022 and to ensure welfare and safety of abandoned cattle. It had provided shelter to more than 20,000 destitute heads of cattle during the past four years.

Modern cow sanctuaries and shelters were being constructed and the capacity of the existing selters was being increased to provide shelter and safety to the abandoned animals, he added. — OC
