The booking of accommodation in all 278 rest houses of the Public Works Department (PWD) in Himachal can now be done online. As per a notification issued by the Public Works Department, the online booking facility will be available for all rooms, except the one for VIPs.

Fifty per cent of the advance booking payment will be made online on the portal. The PWD has 25 Circuit Houses at all district headquarters and other main towns and 278 rest houses in the state.

There are over 1,800 rooms in these rest houses, which can be booked online on the himatithi.nic.in portal.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
