The Pathankot depot of the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) today set up a special counter for preparing National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) at the Nurpur bus stand. This counter will function from 10 am to 5 pm on all working days. The NCMC card facility has been linked with the State Bank of India for monetary transactions.

The National Common Mobility Card will promote cashless facility in public transport buses. The card can be used even without Internet facility. Initially, this card will be recharged with Rs 1,000. The NCMC is being prepared for the convenience of the people, who can use it in public transport buses of Himachal Pradesh and of other states too. A commuter has to pay Rs 100 for making the card.

Gopal Das, regional manager, HRTC, Pathankot, said, “The NCMC will promote cashless facility in public transport buses. The card can be used even without Internet facility.”

He said, “Initially, this card will be recharged with Rs 1,000. This cashless facility can be used in metros, airports, besides for shopping.”

“The introduction of the NCMC cards will not only help local commuters, but also tourists coming from India and abroad to Himachal Pradesh. This card will provide better experience and convenience to passengers by making both travel and payment process smoother,” he said. He called upon the general public to avail facility of making the NCMC at the Nurpur bus stand.
