The delegation apprised the Chief Minister of their various demands. The Chief Minister assured them that their demands would be considered sympathetically.
New vocational programmes by IGNOU
Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has started two new vocational programmes for the session – three-year BA (vocational) Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (BAVMSME) and two-year MA in entrepreneurship (MAER) programmes. The eligibility for BAVMSME is 10 2 or equivalent and a bachelors degree for MAER programme. Unskilled workers will be skilled through the BAVMSME programme whereas the MAER will develop the entrepreneurship among students. These programmes will be activated in all IGNOU Learner Support Centres located in the states. The link for online admission is available on IGNOU website and the last date for submission of application is July 31.
JUIT, Govt Polytechnic ink pact
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Government Polytechnic, Sundernagar, and Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Waknaghat on June 18. This MoU was signed by Prof Dr Rajendra Kumar Sharma, Vice-Chancellor of JUIT, and Neeraj Uppal, Principal, Government Polytechnic, Sundernagar. Vivek Chandel, Director, Technical Education, Vocational and Industrial Training, said the MoU would enhance pedagogical skill of the students and teachers as it consisted of teaching development programme, workshop, seminars and exchange of ideas. “Students and teachers will directly benefit to get information related to their subjects by having direct conversation with the experts of JUIT,” he added.
