A pall of gloom descended on Chho village near Khuwara in the Nurpur Assembly constituency this afternoon as the news of Mahinder Pal’s (40) death reached his family. He had lost his life in an avalanche that struck Mana village near Badrinath in Uttarakhand yesterday. The avalanche buried him under snow. Despite efforts by the Army to conduct a search and rescue operation he could not be saved.
