Nursing profession true form of humanitarian service: Speaker

The Swami Shri Rajeshwaranand Bharati (SSRB) Nursing Training Institute, Kakira, organised its annual convocation ceremony on Monday. Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania was the chief guest on the occasion.

In his address, the Speaker praised the institute for its significant contribution to medical education in the Bhattiyat Assembly segment. He said the institute, along with its multi-speciality hospital, has been providing quality health services to the people of the region.

He assured that postgraduate nursing classes would be introduced at the institute in the near future. Highlighting the progress made by the institute over the past 15 years, he said it could soon establish itself as a medical college.

The Speaker said the nursing profession is one of the finest forms of humanitarian service. Extending his best wishes to the trainees for their future, he expressed hope that all the trained professionals graduating from the institute would bring glory to this field in every corner of the state, country and world. He also announced a contribution of Rs 40,000 to the nursing training institute for the cultural programme.

Earlier, the SSRB principal, Dr Kanta Ajay Kumar, along with members of the trust, welcomed and honoured the chief guest. Dr Kumar also presented the annual report detailing the institute’s achievements. Trainees of the institute showcased an impressive cultural performance during the event.

Students who excelled in the GNM, ANM and BSc Nursing examinations were felicitated on the occasion. GNM first-year topper in the state, Suneha Rana, received a cash prize of Rs 15,000, while Shalu Devi, who secured fourth position, received Rs 5,100. Priya, who stood first in the state in the ANM second-year examination, was also awarded Rs 5,100. Several other trainees who performed well academically or participated actively in various activities were also honoured.
