According to a complaint lodged at the Dharamsala police station, the girl's father said she had been working as a caretaker at a couple’s residence. On Tuesday, she informed the couple that her uncle had passed away in Bharmour, Chamba district, and requested leave to visit her uncle's family.

However, after leaving their house, the girl did not return home. Her father told the police that they had also checked with relatives in Bharmour, but she had not reached there.

“She left saying she was going to Bharmour, but hasn’t been seen or heard from since. We are extremely worried,” he said in his complaint.

Following his statement, a case under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, has been registered at the Dharamsala police station.

The Dharamsala police have also issued an alert to all police stations in Kangra and neighbouring districts to help trace the missing girl.
