Four Lane Lok Body (FLLB) president Rajesh Pathania sat on a day token fast at the mini secretariat here on Tuesday against the unprecedented delay in land acquisition and disbursment of compensation to the people whose land was acquired in the Nurpur section for the Pathankot-Mandi road.

Earlier too, he had resorted to a fast at the Chogan ground here last year and called it off after 17 days following the intervention of Kangra Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Prajapati.

The FLLB has submitted a memorandum to the President, through the local SDM, expressing resentment over the “hollow announcements” of the government for the past three years over the Pathankot-Mandi road widening project and the completion of its nodal formalities.

In the memorandum, the FLLB stated that the state government could not even finalise the compensation to be paid to the affected people.
