One injured in road accident near Shimla

One person sustained injuries after a car (HP 01 A 3165) he was traveling in collided head on with another car (DL 3 C BM 3259) coming from the opposite direction near Shimla, police said on Sunday.

The injured has been identified as Ajit Singh (60), a resident of Taradevi, Shimla.

According to reports, the accident took place on Sunday at around 10:00 am near Sankat Mochan Temple on National Highway 5, when a taxi driver lost control of the vehicle and it collided with a car due to which he sustained serious injuries.

As a result, traffic movement on the road was also disrupted for some time.

Police reached the spot and rushed the injured to Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital where he is undergoing treatment.

Shimla Superintendent of Police (SP) Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi confirmed the report and said police is conducting the investigation.
