“The duo have been identified as Mukesh of Solan and Puja of Mashobra, Shimla. They could not produce any permit or license for carrying the banned capsules, following which a case has been registered against them under Section 18 of the Drugs and Cosmetic Act. The case has been handed over to the drug inspector for further investigation,” added the SP.

The vehicle which the duo was riding has also been seized. During the investigation, it was found that they were planning to supply these drugs to youth in Solan and those studying in nearby educational institutions. Further probe is underway to trace the backward and forward linkages of the case.

The SP added that they were carrying out a sustained campaign against drug peddlers, especially those smuggling chitta and other narcotic substances in the district.
