PAC members visit National Defence Academy

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Himachal Pradesh Assembly today made an official visit to the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla. It was attended by Executive Chairman of PAC MLA Sanjay Rattan, Deputy Whip Kewal Singh Pathania, MLA Inder Singh Gandhi, Captain Ranjit Thakur, MLA Kamlesh Thakur and MLA Janak Raj. Commandant Admiral Gurcharan Singh welcomed the members of the PAC and provided information about the NDA, the premier institute whose entire campus spread over 8,000 acres.

The committee also met the trainees undergoing training in the academy. Himachal Pradesh has made tremendous contribution to the Indian Armed Forces. Major Somnath, who received the country’s first highest military honour Param Vir Chakra, belonged to Himachal Pradesh.

The committee members took keen interest in the training syllabus. They also visited the NDA mess hall, which has hosted national and international guests several times, including the President, Prime Minister, Defence Minister and Army Chiefs as well as heads of state. The committee toured the entire institute and also visited various sections such as Sudan section and Manoj Pandey India Squadron.
