Palampur, March 21

The district administration sealed the local bus stand today and suspended the operation of all private buses till further orders. Only outgoing passengers were allowed to board HRTC buses with a 25 per cent capacity usage. Heavy security arrangements have been made all over Palampur to check mass gatherings.

Palampur SDM Dharmesh Ramorta took the stock of the situation and asked local residents to stay indoors in view of Section 144 of the CrPC imposed — there is a complete ban on the assembly of more than four persons at one place.

Besides, several vehicles were also making regular announcements in rural areas about how to save themselves from the coronavirus. Health Department teams were regularly interacting with people.

The SDM said that a complete ‘Janta curfew’ would be observed tomorrow from 7 am to 9 om, as per the advice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He asked the residents not to come out of their houses till the curfew ends.
