Palampur scholar tops national agricultural research examination

A native of Kharka village, Raisan (Kullu district), Dr Hem Lata completed her PhD in 2023 under the guidance of Dr Akhilesh Sharma, with her research focused on chilli heterosis breeding. She attributed her success to the constant mentorship of her guide, along with the encouragement and blessings of her parents, Meera Devi and Dharam Chand.
Expressing her gratitude, Dr Hem Lata said, “Continuous hard work and proper guidance always lead to success.” Currently, she is undergoing training at NAARM, Hyderabad, and will soon begin her career at an ICAR institute.
Congratulating her, Vice-Chancellor Dr Naveen Kumar described the achievement as a proud moment for CSKHPKV. He remarked that securing the top rank in such a prestigious examination is a milestone that will inspire other students to strive for excellence in national-level competitions. He also extended best wishes for her bright future, expressing confidence that she will make significant contributions to agricultural research, particularly in vegetable science.
