The week-long campaign concluded on Monday with a symbolic red-ribbon pinning ceremony on the university campus, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to health awareness, inclusivity and responsible behaviour among students and staff.
Throughout the week, the colleges under CSKHPKV organised a series of awareness-building activities, including poster-making, rangoli, slogan-writing and speech competitions. These events focused on HIV/AIDS prevention, addressing myths and misconceptions and highlighting the importance of early diagnosis and care. Students and staff participated enthusiastically, making the campaign both educational and engaging.
The concluding day featured an awareness rally within the university campus, led by student volunteers, faculty members and nodal officers from all four colleges and the Student Welfare Organisation. The rally underscored this year’s global theme and encouraged the university community to stand united against stigma and discrimination.
Vice-Chancellor Dr AK Panda extended a message of appreciation to all participating colleges, students, faculty and nodal officers. He emphasised that awareness, empathy and scientific understanding are the strongest tools in combating HIV/AIDS. “Universities play a critical role in shaping informed and responsible citizens. Our students must carry forward the message of compassion, prevention and community health. This awareness week reflects our commitment to building a sensitive and informed society,” he said.
Nodal officers from all four colleges coordinated the activities, ensuring maximum student involvement and meaningful outreach across the campus. Their collective efforts played a key role in the success of the awareness week. The university community came together in solidarity during the red-ribbon ceremony, symbolising support for those living with HIV, remembrance of those lost and a pledge to promote knowledge-based prevention strategies.
