Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya (CSKHPKV), Palampur, marks 46 years of commitment to advancing agricultural education, research and community development. Established on November 1, 1978, and named after Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar in 2001, the CSKHPKV focuses on enhancing hill agriculture in Himachal Pradesh and beyond.

The university originated from the College of Agriculture, founded in 1966 under PAU Ludhiana, and has since expanded into four constituent colleges: the College of Agriculture, Dr GC Negi College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, the College of Community Science, and the College of Basic Sciences. These colleges collectively offer seven Bachelor’s, 26 Master’s, and 15 doctoral degree programs, with over 9,589 graduates.

The CSKHPKV ranks 19th among agricultural institutions and 15th among state agricultural universities, according to the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF-2024). With over 2,000 students from 14 Indian states and six countries, the CSKHPKV fosters a diverse academic community dedicated to advancing global agricultural practices.
