Shimla, June 2

The government today constituted a committee, headed by Director (Industries), to inquire into the ventilator purchase by the Health Department in view of the pandemic.

RD Dhiman, Additional Chief Secretary, Health, said though a preliminary inquiry to look into the purchase of ventilators had not indicated any irregularities, to ensure transparency, the inquiry had been entrusted with a committee which would have the Director, Medical Education, and Principal of Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) as members. The committee had been asked to submit its report within 10 days, he added.

He said the ventilators, provided to the department, included original instruments, medical air processor, basic accessories, neo-natal implication accessories and humidifier with five-year warranty.
