Himachal paper leak case accused applies for anticipatory bail

Sandeep Taylor, the main accused in the paper leak case in Solan district, has been directed by a local court to join investigation tomorrow. He has been evading arrest for over a month now.
Sandeep has applied for anticipatory bail as an FIR under Sections 420,120-B, 201 and 34 of the IPC was registered against him at Arki for cheating, criminal conspiracy and causing disappearance of evidence. The court has listed the matter for final hearing on July 7, said Solan SP Virender Sharma.
As many as 28 arrests have been made so far by the Solan police in this case till now.
Sandeep is a resident of Shanti Nagar, Industrial Area, in Sikar district of Rajasthan. He is working as a tax assistant at Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, and is believed to be the kingpin of the paper leak in Solan district.
A special investigation team (SIT) of the Arki police had failed to arrest him after zeroing on him in May last week. He allegedly received Rs 3 lakh from seven candidates of Solan and Arki through two middlemen, Virender and Devraj, alias Pinku. The duo were arrested by SIT on May 21 and they had allegedly received Rs 50,000 for their services from Sandeep. Investigations revealed that the duo made 80 to 90 per cent of the payment online and the rest in cash to Sandeep.
Sandeep’s wife Rinki Purva who works as a teacher at Sangliya in Sikar had also allegedly received some amount in her bank account.
