From the main crossing to Dolma crossing in Kangra district, that is the tourism hub of Mcleodganj, has been declared as a containment zone on Wednesday by SDM Dharamsala.

The area comes under ward no. 3 of the Dharamsala municipal corporation.

The orders read, that the SDM Dharamsala, Harish Gajju said, that eleven people in the area extending from the main square of Mcleodganj to the Dolma clinic crossing have tested COVID positive.

There were chances of the communal spread in the area, due to which section 144 of the CrPC has been imposed in the area, read the statement issued by SDM.

After the declarations of the containment zone, the entry and the exit from the said area would be regulated by the authorities. Anyone entering the area would have to undergo thermal screening. Outsiders would not be allowed into the area without a valid reason.

The residents of the area have been ordered to remain indoors. No one is allowed to roam on the streets, only in case of medical emergencies.

Orders have been issued to sanitize the entire area.

Since the area was the entrance of Dharamkot and Bhagsunag tourist areas it would be difficult for tourists to enter.

This was the second time restricts have been imposed in Mcleodganj area. Earlier, the area was sealed when a Tibetan, who had returned from the US, had died in March this year.
