Deputy Chief Whip and Shahpur MLA Kewal Singh Pathania has announced that all citizens of Shahpur Nagar Panchayat wards will now be included in development review meetings. These meetings will be held from 7 to 9 am in each ward to ensure maximum participation. Speaking at Shahpur rest house on Thursday, Pathania said that resolving public grievances by reaching their doorsteps will be a key step towards transforming Shahpur into an ideal assembly constituency.

Expressing gratitude to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Pathania acknowledged the sanctioning of development funds worth several crores for Shahpur. He informed that a dialysis facility will soon be made available at Shahpur Hospital, and an operation theatre has already been started at the Civil Hospital Shahpur. Additionally, an orthopedic specialist has been deployed. These upgraded facilities will also benefit residents of neighboring constituencies like Jawali and Sihunta. He appreciated the generosity of several philanthropists who donated essential hospital equipment.

Earlier in the day, Pathania felicitated winners of the Chhinj Mela at Har Chakkiyan. He stated that such fairs are a vibrant part of local culture. He also highlighted his efforts over the past two and a half years in addressing the issues of the Changar region, particularly water scarcity. He raised concerns of Rajol residents in the assembly, which led to the allocation of substantial funds for roads, water, and electricity infrastructure around Lapiana Forest Rest House—ensuring basic amenities reach the grassroots level.
