The government disbursed pension to over 84 per cent pensioners of Solan district at their doorstep through the Department of Posts.

An official release said all would be provided pension at their homes. The government had released Rs 12.44 crore to the district and so far, around Rs 11.50 crore had been disbursed as pension.

The social security pension is also being provided to 43 leprosy patients. Solan district has 13,010 old-age pension holders in the age group of 70 to 79 years and 1,584 pensioners above 80 years. There are 8,120 pension holders in the age group of 60 to 69 years. TNS
