Following a 2-1 victory in the bypoll, state Congress president Pratibha Singh said people had voted for the party on the basis of the work done by its government. “The government has implemented most of the guarantees given in our election manifesto. The remaining guarantees will also be fulfilled in due course of time,” she added.

She said the results of the bypoll held in other states were largely in favour of the INDIA bloc. She gave Rahul Gandhi the credit for it.
