Director of Technical Education Vivek Chandel said today that on-the-spot admissions to Diploma in Pharmacy at the institution level would be held on December 7 in different government and private polytechnics and pharmacy educational institutions of the state.

He said that interested candidates could visit their nearby government and private institutions such as Government Polytechnic at Rohru in Shimla, Government Polytechnic for Women at Kandaghat in Solan, Shanti Niketan College of Pharmacy at Ratti in Mandi, KC Polytechnic at Pandoga in Una, Sirda Polytechnic at Naulakha in Sundernagar, Himalayan Institute of Pharmacy at Kala Amb, Laureate Institute of Pharmacy at Katho in Kangra and the Shiva Institute of Pharmacy at Bilaspur.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
