Portmore wins overall trophy in U-19 sport meet

Government Model Girls Senior Secondary School, Portmore, has won the overall trophy in the under-19 block tournament organised from September 1 to 3 at Government Senior Secondary School, Shoghi, in Shimla district. In judo, Vanshika, Palak, Mishika, Sanya and Aastha won gold medal, while Ashmi bagged the silver. Simran, Khushi and Aishvi won bronze medal.

In wrestling, Aishvi Kalyan won gold medal; Aasmi Rajta, Harshita and Saniya won silver; and Khushi and Arpita won the bronze medal.

The students of Portmore school won the kho-kho title for the first time in the under-19 girls tournament. The Portmore students also stood first in kabaddi, volleyball, badminton, yoga, chess, judo, folk song, group song, sanskrit geetika and second in declamation. Rakhi Pandit, principal, GSSS, Portmore, welcomed the students who were accompanied by physical education lecturer Pramod Chauhan besides other teachers.
