Shimla DC Anupam Kashyap said the 7th Poshan Pakhwada will be celebrated across the district from April 8 to 22, with the convergence of all departments. The campaign aims to eliminate malnutrition and promote healthy living under the national initiative, Mission Nutrition 2.0.

Launched in 2018, Poshan Abhiyan focuses on improving nutritional outcomes through social and behavioural change communication and community mobilization. This year, the Poshan Pakhwada will emphasize four key areas: the first 1000 days of life, promoting the beneficiary module in the Poshan Tracker, managing malnutrition through the CMAM (Community-Based Management of Acute Malnutrition) module, and encouraging a healthy lifestyle to tackle childhood obesity.

The DC said the Centre’s guidelines have been shared with all relevant departments and that the campaign will be transformed into a mass movement, reaching every village and household in the district.

District Programme Officer Mamta Paul said community-based activities will be held on April 11 and 21 at all 21,154 Anganwadi centres in the district.
