Shimla, February 19

A local court today declined to accept the cancellation report filed by the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau in Rs1.27-crore shoe scam and directed the Vigilance to reinvestigate the case.

The case pertained to the purchase of shoes by the Police Department in 2010 and the Congress, which was then in the Opposition, had mentioned it in the chargesheet, alleging irregularities in the purchase.

The Congress government ordered a vigilance probe into the matter in 2013 and a case was filed.
