The Urban Development Department has proposed designating certain areas in Sandhol, Baldwara and Dharmpur of Mandi district as Municipal Councils to enhance urban management and development. Additional Deputy Commissioner Rohit Rathour confirmed the issuance of the notification. According to the proposal, the Sandhol Municipal Council will include Kachhali, Datwada, Lasrana, and Sandhol Mohal. The Baldwara Municipal Council will comprise Mohal Baldwara, Jamnaun, Matokhar, Karni, Khanot, Harlayan, Padhyan, Jajyani, and Fatoh. Similarly, Dharmpur Municipal Council will encompass Mohal Dharmpur, Banwar Khala, Chapanu, Bardhan and Kalswai.

Residents of these areas can submit written objections within two weeks of the notification’s publication in the official gazette. Objections must be sent through the Deputy Commissioner of Mandi to the Principal Secretary, Urban Development Department, Shimla-2.

Rathour said the government would review all objections received within the stipulated timeframe before finalising the decision on the proposed MCs.
