People are being fleeced at private MRI centres as the government has failed to provide an MRI machine at Government Medical College here, said Sunil Sharma, AICC member, here yesterday.
Sharma said that in the OPD, patients had increased from 700 to 1,500 ever since the medical college was established. He added that BJP leaders tried to create hurdles in its establishment and even delayed the construction of the campus of the college at Jolsappar.
The Congess leader said that Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur must intervene and order the health authorities to provide an MRI machine to the medical college.
Sharma alleged that the BJP leaders were trying to take credit for works done by others. He said that the development in the district was done during the tenures of the previous Congress governments.
