PWD worker slips to death at Sataun

A tragic incident occurred in Sirmaur district’s Kaffota subdivision of Shillai Assembly constituency, where a Public Works Department (PWD) worker died after slipping during duty. The deceased, identified as Tika Ram Sharma (57), was a resident of Naya village in Shillai tehsil.

According to information, the incident took place this morning at the PWD rest house located at Sataun, where Tika Ram was posted as a beldar in PWD subdivision. He reportedly slipped and fell. Colleagues immediately rushed him to the Civil Hospital in Paonta Sahib, where doctors declared him brought dead. Tika Ram is survived by two sons and a daughter. His wife had passed away earlier. He was due to retire later this month, but his untimely death occurred just weeks before his retirement.

Upon receiving the information, the police took possession of the body and conducted a post-mortem examination. The body was later handed over to the family for final rites.

The sudden death of Tika Ram has cast a pall of gloom over Naya village and among the PWD staff and officers in the region.
