Una District Magistrate Sandeep Kumar today issued a notification, making it mandatory for people coming from the National Capital Region (NCR) and 16 other cities to be sent to institutional quarantine until they test negative for Covid.

During the last two days, 12 new cases were reported in Una district. Most of them were people, who had recently returned from other states, particularly from the NCR, and were either in institutional or home quarantine.

As per notification, people coming to Una from the NCR, Gurugram, Faridabad, Noida, Mumbai, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Thane, Pune, Hyderabad, Thiruvallur, Kolkata/Howrah, Indore, Jaipur, Jodhpur and Chengalpattu will be institutionally quarantined. The samples would be taken after six or seven days from their arrival in Una. Those found positive would be sent to Covid Care Centre in Khad village of Haroli subdivision. Till date, 54 positive cases have been reported from Una, of which 30 have been cured. With four new containment zones, the total number rose to 13. —OC
