Senior BJP leader Ragni Rukwal was elected the district president of the Palampur organisational district of the party on Sunday.

She was unanimously chosen by BJP workers of Palampur, Sulaha, Jaisinghpur and Baijnath Assembly constituencies. Speaking to mediapersons after her election, Rukwal said she would visit every polling booth of all four Assembly segments under the Palampur organisational district.

She thanked party workers for having faith in her. Sulaha BJP MLA Vipin Singh Parmar said Rukwal was the undisputed leader of the party, which is why hundreds of BJP workers from the four segments had reposed their faith in her.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
