Rahul Sharma has secured the 22nd All-India rank in the UPSC examination for commission in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and has been selected as an Assistant Commandant, according to the results declared by UPSC on Saturday. Rahul Sharma, a resident of Mihara Ghumarwin village in Bilaspur district, is the son of Rakesh Sharma, a Himachal Administrative Service (HAS) officer currently posted as Sub-Divisional Magistrate at Nadaun. His mother is serving as head of the Department of Zoology at Gautam College in Hamirpur.

Notably, Rahul completed his post-graduation from IISER-Mohali, and is currently pursuing an MBA in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science from the IIT- Mandi.

He stated that serving in uniform had always been his childhood passion and that his grandparents, Bali Ram Sharma, a retired principal, and Bhandaro Devi, had wished to see him in such a service. He credited his success to their blessings and the consistent encouragement and support from his parents.
