Continuous heavy rain and flash floods in nullahs have caused losses of around Rs 2.97 crore to various water supply schemes in the Churah area of Chamba district in the past few days, an official report said.

Besides water supply schemes, a subdivisional store and a complaint room of the Jal Shakti Vibhag at Bairagarh was also damaged. The water supply schemes at Devikothi, Satyas, Tikrigarh, Charda, Bhageigarh, Jassourgarh, Jhajhakothi, Guila, Sanwal, Chachul, Masroond, Chakloo, Rajnagar Kiani, Pukhri and other areas had suffered damages, the report stated.

However, efforts were being made on a war footing to restore the schemes.
