Ramkrishna Mission Shimla members have demanded judicial and CBI inquiry into the recent violence that occurred on the Ashram’s premises, located near the Vidhan Sabha, in which seven, including three police personnel, were injured.

Addressing a press conference in Shimla, Swami Tanmahimanand, secretary Ramkrishna Mission, said the matter was not between the members of the mission and Bramho Samaj, but was between the mission and some encroachers. He said the people who entered the temple premises should be identified.

Narrating the incident, he said on November 16, around 150 persons posing as devotees reached the Ashram and took part in the evening aarti. “When we requested them to leave the premises after the aarti, they refused and started to claim that the temple belongs to them and tried to take over the temple. They also broke the CCTV cameras,” he said.

“They started to attack us and in self-defense we also retaliated,” he added.

He also alleged that he tried to call Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and two ministers, but received no response. He said Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur assured them of all possible help.
