Rangoli contest held

Government College, Kotshera, organised a series of events such as rangoli, poster-making, slogan-writing for students as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. Over 150 students participated in various events. The college Principal, Anumpa Garg, presented the winners with prizes. The principal exhorted the students to take active part in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.

75 feet-high flag hoisted

As part of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’, Nurpur SDM Anil Bhardwaj hoisted a 75 feet-high Tricolour on the premises of Rose Public School, Sulilali, in Nurpur on Friday. On the occasion, he was greeted by the school staff and students. Bhardwaj briefed the students about the importance of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ across the country.

Governor urges students to read books

Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar urged students to take a pledge to read books apart from textbooks. He asked them to share their experiences of reading books by writing letters to him. The Governor was addressing the 12th annual prize distribution function of Government Degree College, Seraj, at Lambathach in Thunag sub-division of Mandi district, on Thursday. He said the students need to move towards self-reliance.

22 schools awarded for cleanliness

The state government has awarded state-level awards under the Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar (SVP) to 16 schools in overall category and six schools in various sub-category. The SVP were launched by the Ministry of Education on January 12. Being an online process, all the schools, including private schools, were eligible to participate in SVP. After thorough scrutiny, 22 schools were selected by a state-level committee under the chairmanship of Principal Secretary (Education).
