Lahaul and Spiti MLA Anuradha Rana inaugurated an ultrasound machine at the district hospital at Keylong today. The facility aims to provide better health services to local people and ensure that patients can access essential diagnostic services in the district itself.

Anuradha said that ultrasound test facilities would be available three days a week for expectant mothers and three days for other patients. She emphasised the importance of the services, as local residents had been facing problems in getting ultrasound tests done.

The MLA announced that an ultrasound machine would be provided at the Udaipur hospital soon and instructed the Chief Medical Officer, Dr Roshan Lal, to arrange for training of a doctor on the new equipment.

She said that there were three specialist doctors at the Keylong hospital. The expansion of the hospital’s access road was underway, she added. Additionally, the construction of a lift and a ramp were set to commence soon.

The MLA reaffirmed the government’s commitment to filling vacant posts in health institutions in the district. She said that ultrasound test facilities would now be available in the hospital. Ultrasound specialist Dr Tarun and other medical staff were present on the occasion.
