Residents of Nahin village under Pekhri panchayat in Banjar Assembly segment of Kullu district have been demanding road connectivity to the area, so that they can avail transport facilities on the door step.

Durga Das, Dile Ram and a few other residents of Nahin village said, “There is an urgent need to provide road connectivity in the area for the welfare of people. They said in case of a medical emergency, people of the village have to carry critically ill patients on shoulders and walk for about 4 km on foot to reach the road to avail transportation facilities.”

“The farmers of the area are not able to transport their agriculture and horticulture produce to the nearby market on time due to lack of road connectivity. They have to pay heavy charges to the labourers to carry their produce to the roadside,” they said.

They said, “We urge Banjar MLA Surender Shourie to look in to the matter and discuss the issue with the Chief Minister to ensure road connectivity to the village. It will be a relief for us.”
