Dehra Assembly constituency MLA Kamlesh Thakur on Tuesday listened to the problems of the people at Beh Donta. Yesterday, she visited Sakri gram panchayat and Bilaspur to meet panchayat representatives and area residents.

The Dehra MLA said it was her priority to ensure that the people of Dehra do not have to run around government offices for petty problems, and their difficulties should be resolved at their doorstep.

Instructions had been given to officials in this regard, she added. According to her, the government was working on many important projects, including better roads, electricity, water and other basic facilities for the rejuvenation of Dehra. The MLA said the Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu-led government was prioritising giving attention to the resolution of problems related to roads, water and electricity.

While addressing the gathering, she said developmental works worth about Rs 10 crore were going on in Sakri and Bilaspur panchayats.

Out of the ten guarantees of the Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu government, work on five guarantees had already started on ground, she added.

She said the state government was employee-friendly, which was reflected in the announcements made by the Chief Minister ahead of Diwali. On her arrival, panchayat representatives and area residents gave her a warm welcome.

On this occasion, Dehra DFO Sunny Verma, PWD Executive Engineer Suresh Walia, Haripur Naib Tehsildar Swatanter, SDO PWD Gurbachan Chaudhary, District Council Member Veena Dhiman, BDC Manjit Singh, employees of various departments and a large number of area residents were present during the visit.
