Taking cognisance of the huge losses being caused by heavy rains, cloudbursts and flash floods in many districts and the issues concerning road projects being executed by the NHAI being raised by MLAs in the Assembly, the Speaker chaired a high-level meeting here today. “Although the work of four-laning is going on in only five-six districts, due to which landslides are also happening and roads are getting blocked, these highways should be restored soon and considering the losses to the people, a concrete policy should be formulated,” he said.

“It has now been decided that a senior official of the NHAI will remain present in the House to brief the Public Works Minister so that he can apprise the house of the correct situation,” he said.
